I've been curious to try this fairly new restaurant, brunch and cocktail spot in my neighbourhood which promised to do what few restaurants can in this city: make the most of its riverfront location.

Situated in a former boatyard, it possesses a hectare of waterfront land, with a pleasant garden and extensive, gravel parking area. The restaurant is located in a former industrial space, but is remarkably cosy: the interiors are simple and white with naval gadgets hung from the ceilings, without going too kitsch. But a use of soft furnishings and lamps takes the edge off the boatyard vibe.

The staff are exceptionally friendly and evidently proud of the project. We went for dinner on a Friday night; I had booked ahead but probably didn't need to. I think this may change as the weather gets warmer and the place grows in popularity.

We tried what was called the tasting menu for €35, although it was rather a set menu as it consisted of just three courses. To start, marinated salmon with sour cream, soy sauce, bean sprouts and a hint of beetroot. Then, creamed baccalà on a bed of violet potatoes. To finish, a sable of chocolate with cream and ice.cream.

The food was good, the baccalà would have been nice a little warmer as it was served at room temperature, which worked for the fish, a little less for the potatoes. I was still a tiny bit hungry at the end of the evening.

This is definitely a highly promising restaurant and waterfront project which will really come into its own in the summer. Next time I'd like to try the standard menu and their list of cocktails. Definitely a spot to watch!
